[ Editor’s Note: David has a very up to date article below on the colorful Dr. Oz who thinks he is the Wizard of Oz. Frankly I was not aware of his Turkish background, with my attention having been focused on his Covid hustling.
I also did not watch his debate with Fetterman so do not know if his myriad of Turkish connections just screams of his being a security risk. It seems so obvious now I would not have even charged for doing his background check.
This brings up a one man pet peeve I have, and that is why after all the political corruption, the dirty money in politics, the dual or triple loyalties, why does the public have zero interest in all political people running for office having to pass a deep background check first?
Gosh, it seems like the door has been left wide open to let infiltrators just walk in, with Trump being the most colorful past example with the Russian mob having been all over him for years.
The intel agencies have used mob people for ages to work with them in return for not being prosecuted for their ‘regular activities’. Putting them in political slots has them ‘hiding in plain sight’.
Just look at the Trump situation, with his bailing out of the Whitehouse and stealing any and all intel that he wanted to use to his advantage in the future, like it was his right to do so, angry because he was not allowed to pull of his insurrection.
Think Jeffrey Epstein, who used to lend his plane to the CIA, a man who lived his life like he was untouchable.
If OZ can get into the Senate, look to see a flood of carefully groomed mob and foreign intel people running for office in the future. Our political system is broken because someone wanted it that way.
And one of its greatest hustles was Trump’s pitch that he wanted to come in to drain the swamp. And you have to give him credit that it was a good scam, and his being smart enough to know that a lot of people would lap it up. Thus ends my cheery missive for today…Jim W. Dean, VT Editor Emeritus]
First revealed … October 27, 2022
TV persona Dr. Mehmet Cengiz Ozis the Republican candidate for U.S. senator in Pennsylvania. He might develop into the primary senator to carry twin citizenship, notably that of Turkey and America.
Which nation does Ozowe his allegiance to? That’s what journalists and others have justifiably been asking.
It’s an vital query, notably as Turkey stays a rogue NATO member and unapologetically repressive and corrupt. Furthermore, Ankara has lengthy supported worldwide terrorist organizations reminiscent of ISIS.
Ozand Turkish Terrorism
Ahmet S. Yayla was Turkey’s counterterrorism chief from 2010-2013. He acknowledged in 2020 that “Turkey was a central hub for … over 50,000 ISIS international fighters, and the major supply of ISIS logistical supplies [including] IEDs [improvised explosive devices], making Turkey and ISIS virtually allies.”
Terrorism knowledgeable/State Division adviser Dr. David L. Phillips directs Columbia College’s Peace-building and Human Rights Program. In Turkey: A State Sponsor of Terrorism? (2021), Phillips confirmed that if a “non-NATO nation behaved like Turkey, it will warrant designation as a State Sponsor of Terrorism.”
Has Ozever forthrightly condemned his nation’s terrorism, repression, or corruption? Seemingly not. Does Ozeven care that Turkey sponsors ISIS and different terrorist organizations? I discover no proof of that.
Take his January 10, 2022 Washington Examiner op-ed. He expressed his “deep issues about lots of its [Turkey’s] authoritarian home insurance policies and dangerous international insurance policies.” Which “insurance policies,” precisely? He didn’t say. I requested his marketing campaign for examples. It hasn’t replied.
Furthermore, Ozs alleged “issues,” famous journalist Benjamin Baird, appeared solely after the latter’s stinging, detailed, exposé of the physician’s “many entanglements with Turkey’s authorities” (Nationwide Evaluate, December 23, 2021).
People, mentioned Baird in June, can rightly “query Ozs loyalty and marvel why he needs to extend his allegiance to an oppressive authoritarian state.”
John Fetterman, Ozs Democratic opponent, has didn’t slam Ozon the above factors, notably his rival’s obvious indifference to Ankara’s help of terrorism.
Ozeven claims he’s “by no means been politically concerned in Turkey in any capability” and doesn’t “actually have a relationship with the management there [in Turkey].” Oh, is that so?
President Erdogan is Ozs “Chief”
In a Turkish TV interview, the physician mentioned this after assembly President Erdogan: “I met with our chief in Turkey [emphasis added]. There’s the query of how I can assist Turkey as a consultant [emphasis added].”
Ozserved two months within the Turkish military and has intensive actual property holdings in Turkey. They embrace a $2 million dormitory leased for free of charge to the regime’s Training Ministry.
When Ozannounced his candidacy in 2021, Turkey’s U.S. Ambassador Hasan Murat Mercan instantly telephoned his congratulations. The mega-millionaire candidate, by the way, switched his voting handle from his New Jersey mansion to his in-laws’ Pennsylvania dwelling solely in 2020.
Ozclaims to keep up his Turkish citizenship solely as a result of his mom lives in Istanbul and has Alzheimer’s illness. But exiled Turkish journalist Abdullah Bozkurt factors out that Ozcould simply purchase a Turkish “Blue Card,” which confers most citizenship privileges.
In March, Ozstated that as a twin citizen senator he would forego asking for sure American safety clearances. Now, although, he swears he’ll drop his Turkish citizenship — however provided that elected.
Mike Pompeo, President Trump’s Secretary of State, has questioned why Ozhad “the time and power to vote in a Turkish election” however not in New Jersey’s 2018 main. The candidate, added Pompeo, should element the “scope and depth” of his relationship to Turkey as a result of they increase “nationwide safety issues.” He hasn’t accomplished so.
Sadly, in all probability as a result of Trump is absurdly pro-Turkish, he endorsed Oz.
The Physician and Mass Homicide
In 2019, U.S. Senate Decision 150 handed 100–0. It acknowledged the genocides of “Armenians, Greeks, Assyrians … and different Christians” dedicated by Ottoman and post-Ottoman Turkey from 1915–1923.
Queried concerning the Armenian Genocide, Ozs marketing campaign shot again with this disingenuous generalization: Our candidate “opposes genocide and the homicide of harmless individuals in all kinds … the evils of World Conflict I ought to be commemorated.”
After all, few individuals publicly favor genocide, homicide, and evil. Ozs evasive non-answer locations him once more on Turkey facet and at odds with the U.S. Senate.
The true depth of the OzTurkish love affair is understood to few Pennsylvania voters.
The Oz–Turkish Love Affair
Ozhas been a guide and publicist for Turkish Airways, 49% owned by the Turkish authorities.
He was as soon as elected to the Excessive Advisory Council of the Istanbul-based World Turkish Enterprise Council (DTiK). The latter is affiliated with Turkey’s Overseas Financial Relations Board (DEiK), an arm of President Erdogan’s regime.
Ozspoke at DTiK’s 2019 convention in NY Metropolis. It was co-hosted by Gunay Evinch.
Ankara employed Evinch’s legislation agency, Saltzman & Evinch, to gather intel on sure of Turkey’s critics in America.
Evinch co-chairs the Turkish American Nationwide Steering Committee (TASC) with Halil Mutlu, Erdogan’s cousin. In America, Mutlu represents Erdogan’s Islamist AKP occasion.
Throughout a TASC fundraiser in 2019, Ozsat beside Murat Guzel, the occasion’s host and the topic of FBI monetary investigations.
At a 2019 Turkish parade in Brooklyn, NY, Ozand Turkish Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gul embraced one another. In 2018, the U.S. Treasury Division penalized Gul for Ankara’s unjust detention of Andrew Brunson, an American Christian pastor.
Ozoffers life-style programming on the BiP communications platform. BiP is owned by the Turkish Wealth Fund, headed by Erdogan himself.
In 2022, Enes Kanter Freedom, the NBA basketball star, former Turkish citizen, and Erdogan critic, tweeted:
“Individuals in Pennsylvania wants [sic] to grasp that [Dr. Oz] is a Overseas Agent and he works for Dictator [Erdogan]. Ask your self, why would a Turkish citizen, who lives in Jersey and works in New York Metropolis would need to be the Senator from Pennsylvania [emphases added].”
Good Guys End Final
In Might’s GOP main, Ozbeat David McCormick by simply 951 votes out of 1.3 million.
Had McCormick used the factors above (a few of which I gave to his marketing campaign and one other GOP contender, Kathy Barnette) to hammer Oz, he would have gained.
If John Fetterman lacks the abdomen to reveal the total Oz –Turkish love affair, notably Ankara’s help of ISIS, he might lose too — and can deserve it.
